Job Description
- **Location**: Singapore (Onsite)
- **Company Overview**:
- Hope Technik is a homegrown engineering powerhouse specializing in the design and manufacture of high-specification vehicles, robotics, and specialized engineering solutions. Known for our "0-to-1" spirit, we push the boundaries of technology to deliver mission-critical platforms for defense, emergency services, and industrial sectors.
- Join a team of passionate innovators where your designs don't just stay on a screen—they are built, tested, and deployed to solve real-world challenges.
- **Role Overview**:
- Join our scaling team as a hands-on Mechanical Engineer. In this role, you will bridge the gap between digital design and physical reality, spending approximately 70% of your time on CAD development and 30% on the workshop floor. You will be responsible for owning sub-assembly designs for specialized vehicles, containerized systems, robotics, and automation, ensuring they are robust, functional, and ready for deployment.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **End-to-End Mechanical Design:** Devise innovative solutions at the assembly and sub-assembly levels, creating detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- **Hands-on Prototyping & Testing:** Lead the build-up of prototypes and Proof of Concepts (POCs). You will actively support fabrication, welding, and assembly processes to see your designs come to life.
- **Engineering Analysis:** Perform structural analysis (FEA) on components and sub-assemblies to ensure they meet stringent design specifications and performance standards.
- **Technical Documentation:** Translate complex customer needs into technical requirements, producing comprehensive design documents, test reports, and risk assessments.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Partner closely with workshop teams to ensure Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), identifying and resolving mechanical issues in real-time.
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements:**
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks is highly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical design, which may include professional roles, internships, or significant academic projects involving complex assemblies.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to work in a workshop environment; you are comfortable working alongside fabricators and building physical prototypes.
- Foundational knowledge of sheet metal parts, weldments, truss structures, and kinematic solutions.
- **Genuine Occupational Requirement:** Due to the nature of our specialized vehicle and defense projects, candidates must be eligible to obtain the necessary security clearances required for these sensitive programs.
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements:**
- Experience in the design of hydraulic circuits (pumps, valves, cylinders, and safety locks).
- Prior exposure to specialized vehicles, mobile platforms, or large-scale ruggedized structures.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks Simulation for quasi-static loading analysis.
- **Why you should be interested**:
- **True Ownership:** This isn't a "paper-pushing" engineering role. You will own your designs from the first sketch to the final physical prototype.
- **Scale and Impact:** Work on large-scale, high-impact projects that require a unique blend of creativity and heavy-engineering rigor.
- **Rapid Learning Curve:** Whether you are a fresh graduate or an engineer in the early stages of your career, you will receive mentorship from some of the best engineering minds in the region while enjoying high levels of autonomy.
- **Innovation at Heart:** Be part of a culture that values innovation and technical excellence, where your ideas are heard and implemented.
- Ready to build the future of specialized engineering? We look forward to seeing your work.
