- **Role Overview**:
- As a Retail Cashier, you are the face of POPULAR and our final point of contact with customers. You will ensure a seamless and positive shopping experience by managing transactions with accuracy and providing helpful service. This is a vital role in maintaining our high standards of retail excellence during our 100th-anniversary milestone.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Efficient Transaction Management**: Handle sales transactions using our POS system, including scanning merchandise, processing various payment modes (Cash, NETS, Credit Cards, Vouchers), and ensuring accurate cash handling.
- **Customer Engagement & Service**: Greet and assist customers with inquiries, pack purchases carefully, and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor at the checkout counter.
- **Promotions & Membership Support**: Help customers understand ongoing promotions and membership benefits, including recommending counter add-ons to enhance their shopping experience.
- **Operational Excellence**: Execute daily opening and closing procedures, including cash float verification and settling collections, while maintaining an organized and tidy counter area.
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements**:
- Minimum GCE ‘N’ or ‘O’ Level qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in cash handling or retail cashiering; familiarity with POS systems is preferred.
- High level of integrity and accountability, with a meticulous approach to handling cash collections.
- Ability to commit to a fixed 10:00 AM – 9:45 PM shift on a rotating 5-day work week (including 3 out of 4 weekends and Public Holidays).
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements**:
- Fluency in spoken Mandarin is preferred to effectively assist our customers with membership sign-ups and promotional details.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced retail, supermarket, or F&B environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude toward customer service.
- Resilience and the ability to thrive during peak retail seasons (e.g., back-to-school periods).
