- **Role Overview**:
- As a Retail Leader, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between store strategy and frontline excellence. This is a "player-coach" position where you will take full ownership of a designated product category (e.g., Stationery, Books, or Gadgets & IT) while leading and coaching a small team of retail assistants to deliver exceptional shopping experiences.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Category & Inventory Management**: Oversee the full spectrum of your assigned department. You will manage inventory levels, ensure pricing accuracy, and design high-impact product displays to maximize visibility and sales.
- **Team Leadership & Coaching**: Lead and mentor a team of retail assistants. Your responsibilities include conducting daily morning briefings, providing hands-on training, and assisting with staff rosters to ensure smooth daily operations and high performance.
- **Operational Excellence**: Maintain a hands-on approach by personally assisting with stock replenishment, housekeeping, and cashiering duties. You will ensure the outlet remains organized, stocked, and welcoming for every customer.
- **Sales Analysis & Reporting**: Monitor sales trends and category performance. You will provide insights and recommendations to the management team to address performance gaps and optimize the use of the sales floor.
- **Customer Engagement**: Deliver professional service by resolving escalated customer inquiries and fostering a positive, service-oriented environment that enhances the customer journey.
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements**:
- Demonstrated experience in a retail environment with a proven track record in a supervisory or leadership capacity (e.g., as a Team Lead, Senior Assistant, or Duty Manager).
- Experience managing and coaching small teams within a fast-paced retail or customer-facing setting.
- Flexibility to work retail shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays, on a 5-day work week.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead briefings and resolve customer issues effectively.
- Resilience and a "hands-on" mindset—comfortable with the physical aspects of retail operations, such as stock movement and floor maintenance.
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements**:
- Prior experience or a strong interest in specific categories such as Stationery, IT/Gadgets, or Assessment Books.
- Educational background in Retail Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
