- **Location**: Hanoi, Vietnam (Fully Onsite)
- **Role Overview**:
- We are seeking a seasoned Head of Development to lead our 40+ person engineering organization in Hanoi. This is a high-impact leadership succession role where you will serve as the primary operational lead for our Vietnam entity. Reporting directly to the Group CEO in Singapore, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring technical execution aligns with our global vision.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Organizational Leadership & Culture:** Provide strong, empathetic leadership to a multidisciplinary engineering team. Focus on building trust, mentorship, and establishing a stable, high-engagement foundation for long-term growth.
- **Operational Management:** Serve as the functional lead for the Hanoi office, overseeing organizational design, budgeting, and day-to-day entity operations while maintaining a high-visibility leadership presence.
- **Strategic Alignment & Reporting:** Act as the primary bridge between the Hanoi engineering team and the Singapore HQ. Conduct daily reporting and strategic alignment meetings with executive management to ensure local execution meets global business objectives.
- **Technical Excellence:** Oversee the delivery of complex fintech products (FX, Crypto, Trading Platforms). Translate high-level strategic direction into concrete technical roadmaps and rigorous execution plans.
- **Stakeholder Management:** Manage relationships with executive leadership in Singapore, communicating complex organizational and technical topics effectively at the board level.
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements**:
- **Language Proficiency:** Business-fluent Japanese (JLPT N2 level or higher) is a genuine occupational requirement to effectively conduct daily reporting, strategic negotiations, and complex business discussions with Japanese-speaking executive management.
- **Leadership Experience:** Demonstrated experience leading medium-to-large engineering organizations, ideally in a "Country Lead," "VPE," or "Head of Function" capacity.
- **Domain Expertise:** Proven track record in the Fintech, FX, or Cryptocurrency sectors, with a deep understanding of high-volume trading platforms or financial systems.
- **Operational Acumen:** Strong experience in operational leadership, including organizational design, budget management, and senior stakeholder engagement.
- **Presence:** Ability to work fully onsite in Hanoi to provide visible leadership to the local team.
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements**:
- Experience managing cross-border dynamics between a Southeast Asian delivery center and a regional HQ.
- Familiarity with modern tech stacks including NodeJS/NestJS, Golang, Python, Vue/React, and AWS.
- Proficiency in English.
