- **Role Overview**:
- Join our POC team as a Junior Machine Learning Engineer and play a pivotal role in building our proprietary natural language AI platform from the ground up. This is a high-visibility, greenfield opportunity where you will transition early-stage prototypes into production-ready ML solutions.
- Reporting to the Director of Software Development, you will be part of a fast-moving squad responsible for delivering a core product pillar that will redefine how users interact with shared facilities and services within the Rep Diesel ecosystem.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Build In-House ML Solutions:** Design and implement core components of the machine learning pipeline, including data ingestion, fine-tuning, and inference logic for our conversational AI chatbot.
- **Transition Prototypes to Production:** Work closely with senior engineers to evolve basic AI wrappers into a robust, native ML backend capable of supporting a global user base.
- **Collaborate on Greenfield Projects:** Thrive in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment where you will solve complex technical challenges and contribute to architectural decisions.
- **Drive Technical Innovation:** Take ownership of specific components within the ML lifecycle, ensuring high performance, reliability, and accuracy of AI-driven features ahead of major product launches.
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements**:
- Demonstrated professional experience in developing and deploying machine learning models within a production or complex project environment.
- Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Keras.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and "figure things out" independently.
- Proven ability to manage technical responsibilities in a fast-evolving environment with tight delivery timelines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, agile engineering squad.
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements**:
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) or Natural Language Processing (NLP) projects.
- Prior experience in early-stage product development or "0-to-1" builds where infrastructure was still being established.
- A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
