- **Role Overview**:
- As a Merchandiser within our Commercial-Grocer team, you will act as a critical commercial bridge between our automated processing operations and major supermarket retail partners. You will take full ownership of assigned retail accounts, driving category performance through strategic pricing, relationship management, and data-driven insights. This is a high-impact, field-heavy role designed for a "commercial owner" who thrives on navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and optimizing the performance of a fast-moving, perishable category.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Drive Commercial Ownership:** Manage and optimize the performance of the seafood category across assigned supermarket accounts, setting and achieving proactive revenue and growth targets.
- **Strategic Account Management:** Build and maintain high-trust relationships with supermarket category managers and decision-makers, navigating complex negotiations to ensure optimal product positioning.
- **Data-Driven Pricing & Analysis:** Utilize sales data and market research to provide robust pricing recommendations that balance market competitiveness with sustainable margins.
- **Bridge Commercial & Operations:** Collaborate closely with internal production and logistics teams to ensure that commercial commitments and promotions are executed seamlessly and meet high service standards.
- **Field Presence & Execution:** Conduct frequent field visits to retail outlets across Singapore to ensure merchandising excellence, monitor stock levels, and identify market opportunities.
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements:**
- Demonstrated commercial or account management experience within the F&B industry; a deep understanding of the unique dynamics of perishable products (shelf life and supply volatility) is essential.
- **Language Proficiency:** Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin is required to effectively negotiate with Mandarin-speaking retail buyers and coordinate with internal production teams.
- **Analytical Capability:** Proficiency in Excel with the ability to ground commercial recommendations in sales data rather than intuition.
- **Mobility:** This is a field-heavy role requiring travel to multiple locations daily; possession of a personal vehicle is required for effective coverage.
- **Resilience & Stakeholder Management:** Proven ability to manage demanding external clients while aligning with internal operational constraints.
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements:**
- Specialized knowledge of the seafood industry, including product grading, seasonality, and handling.
- Previous experience managing accounts or merchandising within major Singaporean supermarket chains.
