- **Role Overview**:
- As an Application Engineer (Milling), you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between technical programming and real-world production. You will provide high-level technical support for our milling and EDM operations, split between hands-on process validation at our regional HQ and providing expert on-site support to customers across the region. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of precision engineering, delivering solutions that define industry standards.
- **Key Responsibilities**:
- **Technical Process Validation:** Execute high-precision test cuts and sample preparations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy for aerospace and semiconductor applications.
- **Customer Training & Support:** Act as a technical subject matter expert, delivering professional training and on-site support to ensure customers optimize their Makino machining solutions.
- **Process Optimization (HV PM):** Lead process validation for High Volume Part Machining (HV PM) projects, ensuring the reliability and repeatability of complex machining setups.
- **Advanced Programming (Senior Role):** Develop and optimize complex 5-axis toolpaths and CAM programs to meet rigorous manufacturing tolerances.
- **Regional Technical Coordination:** Provide on-site technical expertise across ASEAN, Japan, China, and India (estimated travel of 1-2 weeks per trip, 3-4 times a year).
- **Requirements**:
- **Minimum/Core Requirements**:
- A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in CNC milling operations.
- Proven ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical challenges at customer sites without direct supervision.
- Willingness to travel regionally to support our diverse customer base.
- Proficiency in English to effectively conduct technical training and manage professional correspondence.
- Proficiency in Business Mandarin is required to effectively support and coordinate with our Mandarin-speaking partners and customers across the regional market.
- **Preferred/Bonus Requirements**:
- Extensive experience with CAM programming and complex 5-axis machining (strongly preferred for Senior-level applicants).
- Prior experience in the aerospace or semiconductor manufacturing sectors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer engagement.
