* **Optimize and Deploy Models:** Apply model optimization techniques (e.g., quantization, pruning) to ensure AI models are efficient for deployment on target robotic hardware. You'll also contribute to managing the AI infrastructure for robust model deployment and operation (MLOps).
* **Ensure Safety and Compliance:** Contribute to the development and validation of AI systems adhering to safety-critical standards relevant to the healthcare industry, ensuring robust and reliable solutions.
* **Collaborate and Innovate:** Actively participate in our Agile team, working closely with colleagues to rapidly iterate, solve complex problems, and deliver practical, impactful AI-powered robotic solutions.
**Requirements / Who You Are:**
* **Minimum/Core Requirements:**
* Approximately 9 years of professional experience in AI/Software Engineering.
* Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and/or Imitation Learning models for robotic applications.
* Proven experience applying Computer Vision techniques within robotics projects.
* Significant experience developing or heavily customizing simulation environments for robotics (Gazebo experience highly preferred).
* Prior experience in the healthcare industry or developing AI/robotics solutions for healthcare applications.
* Experience working with safety-critical systems or in environments requiring high levels of system reliability and validation.
* Expert-level programming skills in Python.
* Proficiency with the PyTorch deep learning framework.
* Strong understanding of robotics systems, including manipulators and sensor integration.
* **Preferred/Bonus Requirements:**
* Strong programming skills in C++.
* Experience building or managing components of an MLOps pipeline (e.g., data pipelines, CI/CD for ML, model deployment, distributed training).
* Experience working within an Agile development methodology.
* Demonstrable achievements in optimizing ML models (e.g., using quantization, pruning) for deployment.
* A track record of developing practical, applied AI solutions and taking concepts from design through to simulation, testing, and towards deployment.
* Hands-on experience with robotic manipulators, including their programming and control.
* Based in the UK.
* Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
**What We Offer:**
* **Pioneering Work:** Be at the forefront of developing AI and robotics solutions that will make a tangible difference in the nursing industry and patient care.
* **Impactful Contribution:** Play a crucial role in a new, high-priority team, shaping the future of our AI-driven robotic capabilities.
* **Cutting-Edge Technology:** Work with advanced AI techniques, including DRL, Imitation Learning, Computer Vision, and state-of-the-art robotics simulation tools.
* **Growth and Development:** Opportunity to grow your expertise in a challenging and supportive environment focused on innovation and practical application.
* **Collaborative Culture:** Join a passionate, agile team dedicated to shared success and knowledge sharing.
